Vintage Early 1940’s Harvard University 29″ Felt Football Pennant

Outstanding Old Harvard Felt Pennant From The Early 1940's

This pennant belonged to a gentleman who upon graduating from our country's oldest university received a commission in the U.S. Navy and entered Naval Submarine School at The Beginning Of WWII. Given that provenance, we can safely date this flag from the beginning of the 1940's

This pennant is in very nice shape for being 70 years old. There are some slight wrinkles here and there, but this is a much thicker and more flexible felt than later pennants and can be ironed (and starched -if you wish) into near perfection. It measures 29" long and 10 1/2" at its widest point. It still has all of its felt ties so it can be affixed to a dowel if you want to wave it around and cheer for The Crimson in front of your TV at home or in bleachers in Cambridge (if you're so fortunate)

This is a perfect gift for any current Harvard student or proud alumn
